Last year, Colby's defense would have lost us this game. For 12 long years I have been dreading every time our defense had to take the field -- especially after a stalled drive. In this game we had 11 stalled drives. Last year, that would have been 11 probable scoring chances -- or at least 11 long drives by the opposition that would have worn us out and broken our spirit.
Today, it was defense and special teams that won the game for us. Let's hope Tyrell gets healthy. We saw today (and last year) what happens to Bacher when he does not have the threat of a running game in his offensive arsenal. I think Gary DiNardo said it best. We are running a spread offense without a mobile QB. We have been successful because Sutton is such a special runner. If we lose him, our probability for success goes way down.
With Tyrell healthy I easily see four more wins. Without him, I think we struggle to win more than two.
