The odd thing is that NU seemed well-prepared right out of the gate. That first drive was really impressive, right up until TS gets tackled for a loss. We still got the FG, and the defense came out strong on their first series. 

Consider how the game could have easily started, changing the outcome of just a couple of plays early on. The story could have been:

* NU finishes that 9 minute/20 play drive with a TD rather than FG

* NU blocks that punt (or tackles punter short of a first), gets the ball deep in IU territory. 

And we could have been on the way to an easy win. CJ was sharp, TS had some running room, and the defense was looking good. I didn't sense a lack of readiness or energy, just a lack of execution at crucial moments. 

That said, two things we've seen all year put is in a bind: an inability to get TDs from inside the red zone, and a lack of big plays. Those are the two things that need to get fixed (and hang on to the ball).
