Steven and list friends,
It's muggy in Florida? In York, pa. in January it's 30 degrees on a
good day...who cares if it's muggy in Orlando?
Good talk about our bowl wishes. I had reservations for 4 days/3 nights
in Nashville in 2004 when a Wildcat victory over Hawaii would have gotten us
there. :(
I'm hoping for 9-3 and some how, South Carolina or Auburn getting hot; we
can hang with them and play in Tampa on New Year's Day, humidity
withstanding. (Outback)
Of course, I want NU to finish 11-1, but I'm with Dennis; USC would
corn-hole us good, and I don't relish playing Georgia, LSU or Florida, especially
in SEC country.
This post is all over the place; this is exciting! I think we'll go 9-3
this season, with losses to OSU, and stubbing our toe some where else. 9-3
gets us to Outback, Alamo, Capital One or Champs Bowl. I'm with the poster
who said the best chance of success is in the Champs Bowl vs. the ACC. Who
knows, maybe we'll revive the series vs. Wake Forest?
Regardless, this is turning into the type of season that we all talked
about during the long off-season. The defense is much better, and the offense
has been rolling in the past 7 quarters; 68 points.
Indiana: Indiana has had a lot of problems this season, starting with
Kellen Lewis. Lewis is their best player who's been plagued by personal problems
and an injured ankle. They are now going through what we went through in
2006; the death of RW's close friend Terry Hoeppner. They have no defense,
which wasn't a surprise going into the 2008 season. What has been a surprise
has been IU's inability to score points in bunches, a bit like us. However, we
have a defense, and I see NU establishing the run, playing field position,
and trying to "impose our will" on these guys.
This one is for the linemen on both sides of the ball. We control both in
grinding out a 38-17 win.
Man, I love when the Cats are hot!
GO CATS!! Loyal NU "athletic supporter" since 1978:) Eric
