IMHO its the extra practice that the guys get leading up to the bowl that
really pays dividends down the road.
How much better would our guys be this year with another 25 practices and a
bowl game under their collective belts from last December.
We go to any bowl and we're a better team next year, even with all the
graduations.

PS - Is there any documented proof that bowl winners do better
recruiting-wise than bowl losers ?? I think we have seen evidence that bowl
teams have more recruiting success than non-bowl teams.? And we have been
told by the coaches that the extra practices we get (win or lose) have a
tremendous impact on the team.? Other than the National Title game (which is
a pipe dream for almost all programs), I would venture that a potential
recruit would be more swayed by the fact that you WENT to a bowl previously
(and were likely to go again), than whether or not you happened to win the
game.
