[NU Sports] A bowl too far?

I was predisposed to dismiss El Paso a few years back, but actually had a great time.? We can all have minor squabbles with various bowl host cities, but the fact is that a holiday-season party in a warm climate always beats sitting around the house contemplating a 5-7 or 6-6 season.
It's all about meeting fun people, finding fun bars/restaurants, etc., rather than getting up in the dark to go to work...?
Spending the last couple of bowl seasons at home while teams that we had beaten were out enjoying themselves made it very clear.? Win as many games as you can, and trust Jim Delaney to make sure you get the best berth possible.? I'd love to win, but I'd rather be somewhere than nowhere.
PS - Is there any documented proof that bowl winners do better recruiting-wise than bowl losers ?? I think we have seen evidence that bowl teams have more recruiting success than non-bowl teams.? And we have been told by the coaches that the extra practices we get (win or lose) have a tremendous impact on the team.? Other than the National Title game (which is a pipe dream for almost all programs), I would venture that a potential recruit would be more swayed by the fact that you WENT to a bowl previously (and were likely to go again), than whether or not you happened to win the game.
(Never dreamed we'd be debating the merits of bowl hosts, potential match-ups and bowl results back in 1985...maybe someday we can have these fun discussions about NCAA regionals, RPI rankings and how the?pep band will get to Albuquerque)

Of course 4 million tourists a year are wrong, besides the mouse, universal
studios, sea world, the Orlando symphony, museum of art, fine dining, best US
airport, lots of cheap hotels, great resorts, 100 golf courses, and great
beaches Tempe has us beat

Tempe has much more to do and is nice than in Orlando.
