The problem is that college football players as well as other athletes are increasingly under a one strike and you're out scenario.

I doubt Fitz would be able to give an errant LB 3 chances to turn his life around today, the way RW did a few years back. Joe Pa had been able to keep the discipline in house, now a kid won't be running extra gassers for weeks because he missed curfew, he's looking for a new college to transfer to.

Somehow underage drinking and partying has become a capital crime.

America's biggest problem with alcohol is that we don't allow everyone to drink. Get a hangover when you're 12 and see how fast you run to do it again but I digress....

Stuff that got a kid a slap on the wrist and a lot of extra work on the practice field, now gets them tossed, and eventually, when everyone is in jail, we won't have any more crime....

And that is one.

You know that's what Northwestern did for me, change that. I went to a  
military, Jesuit boarding school so I couldn't often get drunk or laid, and did  
lots of that upon entering college, but by the time I graduated, with help from  
time at the U of Edinburgh, I was really interested in expanding my mind, and 
 not just with blotter acid.
