Were there baseball playoffs last week?:)

Seriously, why do they cling to the sancity of this interminable season and all those wonderful Pittsburgh and KC games in front of 10,000 while rushing the postseason (the games fans REALLY want to see) to get done in less than a week, giving fans in long-suffering places like Milwaukee pennant fever for a couple days and then gone with the short series?

Shorten the already far-too-long regular season (where 20 teams are out of it on opening day anyway) and make the post-season best-of-seven so that teams like the Cubbies and Angels who emerged from the endless season with the top records can actually set up rotations and not be crammed into a corner with a short series.

But that still won't change the fact that the excitement of college football and excellence of pro football are in full swing by the time the bazzzzzzzeball playoffs begin.
