[NU Sports] Cubs?

I actually had a bad feeling about the Cubs season after the no-hitter,
sort of deja vu.  

The 1969 season started to fall apart shortly after Ken Holzman's
no-hitter on August 19th.  At the time the Cubs were in first place
by something like 5-6 games, and while the Mets did have a marvelous 
stretch run the Cubs certainly folded.  

And where was the stretch drive roster move that most pennant-winning
teams make, like the Dodgers' acquisition of Manny Ramirez in July?
