[NU Sports] Cubs?

This curse stuff is BS.

The reason it's been 100 years since a cubs WS is because Wrigley Field
has become a tourist attraction like the Water Tower rather than a place
to see good baseball.  For most of that time (since 1921) their owners
have been happy to promote them as lovable losers because it meant they
could make money off of novelty and didn't have to put a real baseball
team on the field.

That's not to say that the Cubs haven't had great teams.  This year's
team was a high priced powerhouse.  They just had the misfortune of
clinching early and losing their momentum against a team that had to get
hot to make it to October.

I just have a tough time feeling sorry for Cubs fans.  Fate and baseball
don't owe you anything.  If you can't handle disappointment, turn in
your cute cubbie gear and root for a real team like the sox.
