Game  1: Illinois @ Michigan
My pick: FIGHTING ILLINI … nice comeback last week by Big Blue, but they don’t have the offense to hang with the Illini.

Game  2: Indiana @ Minnesota
My Pick: GOPHERS … I like the confidence and spunk of Minny this year and they should have enough at home to get by the banged up Hoosiers. Could be a fun one for those who love offense, though.

Game  3: Iowa @ Michigan State
My Pick: SPARTANS … a big-time slobberknocker here, but Sparty has Ringer and Iowa’s D can slow him down but they won’t beat MSU unless they can also score.

Game  4: Ohio State @ Wisconsin
My Pick: BUCKEYES … Should be a dandy in prime time -- the Badgers know they can’t start 0-2 and are one of the few teams not intimidated by the scarlet and grey, but with Pryor and Wells, OSU just has too much.

Game  5: Penn State @ Purdue
My Pick: NITTANY LIONS … could be a doughnut game for the Nits here with Wisky up next, but Purdue hasn’t shown much since that collapse against Oregon and will get outscored.

My Pick: CRIMSON TIDE … I’d love to see the big blue upset here, but Woodson is off to the pros and Slick Nick has Bama back in a big way.

Game  7: Missouri @ Nebraska
My Pick: TIGERS … Mizzou has far too many bad memories of the Big Red machine to overlook the Huskers this year and UNL doesn’t have the defense to stop Chase.

Game 8: Auburn @ Vanderbilt
My Pick: TIGERS … I really, really want the Commodores (the Northwestern of the SEC J ) to get the win here, but something tells me that the clock is approaching midnight in Nashville.

Game 9: Oregon @ Southern Cal
My Pick: TROJANS … SC needs to thank its lucky stars for all the upsets last week and only dropping to 9, so they won’t stink it up against the other Oregon school.

Game 10: Connecticut @ North Carolina
My Pick: TAR HEELS … One heck of a basketball game, and could be a good one on the gridiron, too – the Heels at least are tested where Uconn is ready for a reality check.
