[NU Sports] New CBSSPORTSLINE bowl pojections

SjT had his picks yesterday, different from everyone else's

I really think it's fun to speculate, but until all the games are played....

BTW - OSU always plays OU tough, they call it the Bedlam Series for a
reason, and the Cowboys can be 0 fer and still stay close against the
Sooners.

I would not want to play OU, however.

Well, here's a different take entirely.? CBSSportsline.com has NU v. Va.
Tech in the Champs Sports Bowl:?

http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/bowls/predictions

They also have Iowa in the Outback (vs. S.Car.), Wisky in the Alamo (vs.
Mizzou), Minny in the Insight (vs. Kansas), Mich. St. in the Capital One
(vs. Georgia), Ohio St. in the Fiesta (vs. Texas), and, of course, Penn St.
in the Rose (vs. USC).
As a "kicker", they have the Irish vs. Rice in the Texas Bowl.? Wouldn't you
love Rice to cream them at home.

At the risk of being wrong (wouldn't be the first time):

I agree with Scott totally.

Have faith. These are just some guys at ESPN's opinion. That and $1.75 will
get you a cup of coffee.

Lots of folks want to believe we will be passed over for Iowa. I do not, and
already have a hotel reservation for Tampa.

1) Iowa has been there twice in the last few years. Does the Chamber of
Commerce really want the same crowd again? How about exposing the wonders of
the Tampa Bay area to a totally new crowd, one with ample disposable income,
and from the Big City of Chicago?

2) We are a ranked team. Iowa is not. Much better exposure and makes for
better publicity.

3) We beat Iowa in their stadium, on their Homecoming.

Just because NU got jobbed in 2000 does not mean it will happen again. San
Antonio is drooling over a potential Iowa-Big 12 matchup (probably the
conference Iowa belongs in anyway) so they will probably get it, sending us
to Florida. The Big Ten officials and our new AD are not stupid. Hope to see
you all in Tampa.
