I have been predicting all along we would get sc**wd. I suppose there still is hope but not only does it look like we will go to a lesser bowl but we could get clobbered by okie state. I was watching them hang in there vs OK last night and they can be explosive. Remember OK is at least a top 5 team. I know our defense is much better than in past years, but I hope we don't get another nebraska scenario (and of course we got shafted in 2000 as well)

I know you're right, I'm just frustrated.
I really would like to see
a) a conference round robin like the Pacific 10 has, and
b) a strict adherence to what bowl a team goes to based on where they finish in the conference standings.
Not going to happen, I know, but it's what I'd like to see.

Or sell tickets. I can't blame bowls (or bowl forecasters) for having
doubts about a team that usually sells 20,000 tickets at home. Yes, we
know they tend to travel better, and yes, we know they have different spending
habits than rural Iowans, but bowl committees are not filled with Nobel
Laureates, they're filled with local business types who see empty seats and
think empty hotel rooms and empty restaurants.
If we are truly angry about lesser bowl bids, we should be complaining
about pathetic marketing, and an athletic department that seems perfectly happy
to accept empty seats (unless they can be sold, easily and without effort, to
visiting fans).
