[NU Sports] Fw: Thank You For Visiting Ryan Field - Feedback Survey

Coach Roy -- being 2000 miles away from Chicago I have a similar tale.
Having been to med school during the streak I never saw a win during school
days. I have only been back to Ryan a couple of times since moving to
California in 1986 -- for some reason when I am able to get back to Chicago
in Autumn, it is always either a bye week or away game. I was at two: the
1994 gambling game that was thrown to Ohio St (when we easily could have
won), and the 1999 Iowa game. You may recall we were pretty bad in 1999, but
we were dominating Iowa the whole game. Then suddenly the momentum changed
late, and Iowa somehow came back to take the lead with just seconds left. I
was in agony -- I couldn't take another loss, especially when we were so
dominant through the whole game. I told my wife and colleagues I was going
to the car. They yelled at me to stay, but I wouldn't listen. Of course,
that was the last-second drive that made Zak Kustok into a leader, when he
tumbled head-over-heels into the endzone for the winning touchdown. I missed
it, so technically I've never seen the Cats win at Ryan. Ugh.

I did see the Cats win at Nevada-Las Vegas in 2001 (my only live win, yay!),
but saw them lose at Reno in 2006, at Arizona St in 2004, and at the Rose
Bowl, Alamo Bowl and Sun Bowl. This year I will go to whichever bowl and
hopefully see a win. You and I are overdue!!
