I agree (probably) - like Florida, when USC decides to show up and focus for a game, they're just about unbeatable. Though it would have been nice to see them meet in Pasadena because JoePa's pretty tough when he has time to prep for bowl games.

But wouldn't it be fun to actually see if they are? Or if SC/Florida could show up for big games three times in a row to earn it?

My point (aside from showing how absurd the BCS is that Florida gets another chance for their mental lapse while SC or PSU does not) was just to show how the team everyone seems to leave out of the discussion - PSU - actually has the best case to be included by having the only win on the road over a top 10 team and two wins over BCS contenders.

Yes, the losses in LA to USC and in New Orleans to LSU hurt our rep the last two years, but like PSU, a look at the numbers tells a different story than the perception 2-3 games created ...

* We're 5-5 in our last 10 Rose Bowls vs. the Pac 10 (7-5 in last 12)
* We're 6-4 in our last 10 Citrus Bowls vs. SEC (including 4 in a row)
* We're 4-6 in our last 10 Outback Bowls (3-3 in the last six)
* We're 6-4 in our last 10 Alamo Bowls

Keep in mind that 7 of the past 10 years, we've fielded two BCS teams, meaning it's really our 3rd place team in Orlando (or in Pasadena last year), etc.

GO CATS!!!
