[NU Sports] Pride of Illinois?

The problem with having Obama's name on the trophy has nothing to do with
whether one voted for him or not. He has not yet been president, and may
have four to eight years of activity ahead of him. We don't know how his
presidency will turn out -- right now there is just the rosy pre-presidency
period.

Usually you would pick a late, or at least retired, individual, since they
are a known quantity. What if Obama has some sort of Watergate and has to
leave office in disgrace? Would it make for a good trophy then?

If he is the president so many hope he will be there will be ample
opportunity to honor him later.
