Well, there have been some other notable tie-ins. Don't forget Arkansas won their NCAA hoops title soon after Clinton took office, and Texas won the football title soon into Dubya's term.

I smell conspiracy!:) Hopefully that works in our favor as NU wins a Rose Bowl soon into an Obama administration and not the Illini instead.

(Either that or brother-in-law's Oregon State team makes a magical Final Four run).

Seriously, though, I think it will unfortunately take more than gentle jabs at the NCAA to move that bowl bureaucracy aside.
