All it would do is change the character of that chatter.  (Why team X is
in or out of the field of 2, 4, 8 or whatever.)  

The NCAA expanded the men's tournament to 65 teams (with a play-in game), 
there are still annual moans from schools that got left out.

As I recall, the head of the BCS's response to O's MNF comment was basically
'butt out, dude!'

However, let's stay away from direct comments about politics here.  

BTW, assuming N*D* doesn't do the impossible next week, they'll be 6-6
and it'll be interesting to see which bowl is the first to bend or break 
the bowl agreements (which seem to be about as firm as Jello in a
windstorm) to go after the Irish over some team with a winning record.
