I agree, I'd MUCH rather go to Toronto than Detroit.? Get them to put a small bowl in Sarasota or Naples or Fort Myers or San Juan or even Rockford, but Detroit ??? :)

I was "half" kidding about these cities, because I know you have to have a stadium present, but get the Big Ten to switch out Detroit for Toronto.

This will sound cold, but...
 
If NU somehow gets screwed and ends up in Detroit, it will be the fans duty  
to ignore the game totally...they can watch it, but don't buy a ticket, and  
don't contribute a dime to Detroit's economy.
 
Only in this way can it be impressed upon the conference powers-that-be  
(i.e. Jim Delaney) 
 
a) no one considers Detroit a pleasant bowl destination, and
 
b) conference rules that allow massive bowl-game screwings can have  
consequences
 
A conference should not maintain a bowl tie-in that practically every  
conference team loathes (and considers an invitation to it to be a  screwing).

wins should get you to some place you want to go.  Jim  Delaney makes a boatload 

of money - let him start earning it.
