UMesh has announced that Sheridan will get another start tomorrow; per a U
of M blog he passed for about the same amount of yards in the Minnesota rout
that he'd passed for all season.
I believe what we have is a case of "what have you done for me lately." We
were beat 45-10 in a game that was much more competitive than the score
indicated; 2nd string QB and 3rd string RB withstanding. Michigan played its
best game of the season against a team that was demoralized from losing to NU,
and missing a potential All-American WR.
One thing Vegas feasts on is name recognition and "what have you done for
me lately." We've had a superior season as compared to Michigan. I don't
believe Michigan has come out of the closet as a good football team They're
getting better, but they've been madly inconsistant. I compare our 2008 Cats
to 2000. In 2000 we got our ass handed to us a few times in regular season
(see TCU w/Tomlinson and Purdue; can't remember the OSU result) but bounced
back. I'm predicting Bacher will start; but just to give UM something to think
about Fitz is employing "Coach-speak" about who's starting. Kafka has earned
playing time any way, so I think we'll see both tomorrow. (And yes, I's
still like to see both lined up in the backfield; what with a 3rd string RB in).
I just feel we'll out-work Michigan tomorrow. We'll get some sacks,
Wooten will create a turn-over, and we'll play poised and show why we're 7-3, and
why Michigan is 3-7. Michigan is favored by 3; I think NU should be favored
by 3 and while we will sweat it out, I see a 20-17 win tomorrow.
I'm 7-2 this season picking the Cats correctly. I passed on last week end
( mainly because I didn't want to predict a loss). I was wrong vs. Minnesota
(I predicted a loss as I felt that Minnesota's "time" was at hand.), and I
picked a close victory over Purdue, which was a blow-out.
A win tomorrow would speak volumes about our depth, which started getting
better, especially on the O-Line. What a nice job this young group has done.
This is an important game tomorrow. I think we're ready to step up.

          GO CATS!!!! Eric
