[NU Sports] Let Kafka be Kafka!

Well, it's starting to slip away now with a 31-10 hole.

Aside from a couple "superman" plays from Wells/Pryor (not much you can do with those), our D has played rock solid and one of their better games in years.

I like the O with Kafka with ONE major exception ...

For the second game in a row, if we get stuffed on first down, we go into a shell offensively.

2nd and 12? Run up the gut. 3rd and 13? Run up the gut.

It's pretty clear from first down where our drives are going - either we're marching and tough to stop or we just got minimal yardage or a loss on 1st down and are surrendering a punt.

I know Kafka's new and all, but in this game more than anything TAKE CHANCES! Hankwitz is doing it on defense! Sometimes we get burned, but sometimes you might get 6-7 yards back and have a manageable third down!

In a close game you can go conservative, but down 24-7 or 31-10, you gotta take a chance on second and long.

But overall, like I said, we're playing a solid game aside from the early turnover that swung momentum and those 2-3 "wow" plays from the Bucknuts' stars. Hopefully we find a way to creep back in it in the fourth and get a mistake from OSU in the turnover department.

GO CATS!!!
