That decision didn't make much sense to me, either, although in the scheme
of things it doesn't make that much of a difference since virtually all
cable/satellite providers carry both ESPN and ESPN2 (in fact, I'm not aware
of any that don't carry both). The only thing I can guess is that ESPN
chooses which network the game will be placed on based on the announcing
team for the game. It will be interesting to see where the NU/Illinois game
gets put, with high profile matchups between OSU/Michigan and Penn State/MSU
on the card (Minnesota/Iowa will be a BTN 7PM game).
