If we win out vs. Ohio State, Michigan and Illinois, and the rest of your scenario comes true, then Minny and Northwestern would be (10-2, 6-2) and Ohio State would be (9-3, 6-2).? I believe that our wins at the end of the season, against marquee schools (OSU, @Mich, Illinois), would garner more attention than Minny's wins at the end of their season (Mich, Iowa, Wis).? Plus, we beat Minny at Minny on their Homecoming.? If life was fair, we'd get the Rose.

However, the Minny faithful are revved up this year, they are turning out for games, and NU has shown that it does not travel?as well as other schools.? Also, it has been, what, 150 years since Minny has set foot in Pasadena, so a USC-Minny matchup would be compelling.? Plus, it would be a great way to advertise for their new stadium, another good story.? The only stories that NU has at the moment?are the youth of Fitz, the academic standards, and the possible intrigue of a running QB in Kafka if Bacher is relegated to 2d string.

I agree that the Citrus would PROBABLY opt for a 9-3 OSU over a 10-2 NU (again, OSU travels well).

NU in the Outback.

P.S.? Was I the only one that noticed that the two DOWN THE FIELD passes thrown by Kafka were immensely effective?? Why why WHY don't we throw vertically rather than horizontally?? Has anyone ASKED Fitz that question in his press conferences?

I allowed myself to fantasize Sunday nite about the Bowl picture for the  
Wildcats...if we should beat Ohio State and run the table.....Rose Bowl? Outback  

Bowl? Citrus Bowl?!  And found myself walking into a nightmare  scenario.
 
If we beat OS, it would be likely 3 teams would tie for 2nd place in the  Big 
10 @ 10-2; NU, Minnesota and Ohio State.  With Joe Pa going for the  National 
Title, non of the three Place finishers would be eligible to go to the  Rose 
Bowl, since none of the three would finish in the top 12 BCS ratings.  
 
AND, since NU always gets snubbed, Minny and Ohio State go to the Outback  
and Citrus Bowls, and we still end up in the dreaded (at least for me) Alamo  
Bowl. 
 
So, win out, we get the Alamo Bowl.  Lose to Ohio St. and Win 2, we  get the 
Alamo Bowl.  (Mich St. and Minny go to the Outback and Citrus  Bowls.  Win 1, 
we still get the Alamo Bowl.
 
It feels like Catch 22.  Can anyone wake me up? Happily?
