Jaybird must be on a tear - he ripped Illinois and Weber [mostly Weber]
yesterday as he pointed out all the things he thinks is wrong with the Illini
too.

[overheard in the Sun Times Men's room -
Unknown voice: "Gee, Jay, none of the Illinois teams made it into the NCAA's
this year."
Jaybird: "Great, there's got to be at least 4 or 5 columns ripping the schools
AD's and Coaches in that one."
End of transcript]

In any case, IMHO, Mr. Carmody has at least a year to get the Cats back to
playing better. If you examine the roster, the 2008-09 team will have some
experience and even a little size to compete with a "down" Big 10 next year. If
NU isn't higher up the conference a year from now, the combination of new AD,
and new President will force a change.

I wonder if Craig Robinson has an "out" clause in his contract that would allow
him to return to his roots in Chicago? Mr. R was 19-9 this year, running his
variant of the Princeton Offense in the Ivy League.....

[Yeah, I know, just what we need another Ivy League coach....]
