> I think BC is good until 2009, when he "better produce"
I don't know enough about the new AD and what BC has been promised at
this point to know if that's the case, but any AD worth having is going
to make the decision based on two or three questions:
1. If the coach has the talent, can he produce results with it?
2. Can the coach recruit the talent?
If the answer to either question is 'no', then the next question to ask is
3. Could a new coach be found for whom the answer is 'yes' to both of
the above.
If the answer is still 'no', then the problem is far deeper than just
making a coaching change, though that could still be part of the equation.
It will be interesting for the long term success of NU athletics to see
who replaces Bienen as the NU President. Much of what was wrong with
NU athletics in the past was a function of the lack of importance NU senior
management placed on athletics. The more interesting question is the
extent to which NU's successes in athletics in recent years impacted
fundraising, since fundraising is the President's biggest job.
