Perhaps, perhaps not.
If by optimistic you mean I am optimistic the team
will crash and burn and the coach get fired, then no.
If by optimistic you mean I am optimistic that these
young student athletes who have committed so much of
their lives to improving themselves on and off the
court can turn things around enough to go out with
their heads held high, then yes.
If the basketball program turns around next season and
goes on to attain the previously unattainable (NCAA
bid, championship, doesn't matter) the fact remains
there are players on this team who put forth their
best for themselves and for the University.
Don't get me wrong, I think the coach should go too,
but that doesn't mean I don't want to see these young
men do their best and, in the process, win a few
games.
Worry about next year when this season ends. Until
then, Hail to Purple!
