There's no time? What, is some big clock ticking somewhere that we don't 
know about? Are you late, late, for a very important date? Judging anyone 
by their first year, for good or bad, falls on the low end of the "making 
sense" meter.

In all seriousness: was anyone expecting Dan Mullen? Calvin Magee? Josh 
McDaniels? I've barely even heard of *those* people, so I certainly wasn't 
planning on having heard of whoever we got. In 1992 I'd never heard of Gary 
Barnett, either.

I can understand being noncommittal or wary about the choice, but 
out-and-out pessimism isn't any more warranted than any amount of optimism. 
Call it "rationalizing" if one must, but at least that means it's rational.
