[NU Sports] New OC - Mick McCall?

Here's why I find this interesting:

Urban Meyer, who was head coach at Bowling Green, was inspired by
Northwestern's win over Michigan in 2000 and instituted the spread offense
at his school. The next year due to last minute scheduling issues after
9/11, BGSU faced NU and won (thanks to a last minute 2-point conversion and
NU blowing a significant lead) utilizing that spread offense (which was
rather effective under QB Josh Harris). In any case, Meyer used that
offense to propel him to Utah and then to Florida head coaching positions.

Now NU will be hiring an assistant working under that offensive system which
the 'Cats themselves inspired. Hopefully he will continue the tradition of
a strong offensive attack that the 'Cats have seen in recent years. I think
his previous experience as OC will help out - when McGee took over in 2006
he had no coordinator experience and I believe it showed through that season
(which was compounded with the loss of Bacher for the first half of the
season).
