Time will tell, of course, but I think this might work out. Interesting
notes (to me, at least): He was head coach for J.K. Mullen High School in
Denver from 1994-2000, which he took to the large-school state semi-finals
four times and won the championship in 1998. (1) I bet Gary Barnett knows
him and I would guess gave some input regarding McCall. (2) Mullen remains a
powerhouse today (I think they won the Colorado championship again this year
or the year before), and that's the school where Tim Brewster's son Nolan
goes and his older son Clint attended. (Nolan is a 4-star safety and a
Texas verbal--although some Minnesota fans still hold out hope that he'll
change his mind and become a Gopher--who looked like the best defensive
player on the field in the Army All-American game last weekend. Clint was
an Illinois recruit who changed his verbal commitment to go to Minnesota
after his dad got the head-coaching job. Clint will be a redshirt freshman
next year. His Mullen classmate, Kyle Theret, played as a true freshman
this year and is the best returning DB for the Gophers after the graduation
of Dominique Barber.) So, at the very least, McCall has a strong connection
to major high school football programs in Colorado, which seems to produce
some decent football talent every year.

Subject: [NU Sports] New OC - Mick McCall?

Sporting News is reporting the new OC will apparently be Bowling Green's
Mick McCall, who was promoted to OC there last season after four years as QB
coach.

He also spent some time as an assistant at Oregon State, among others.

Note: Comcast has been bouncing a lot of list traffic recently. The
problem appears to be on their end.
