[NU Sports] Tiller on the way out at Purdue?

Agreed on most counts. As John pointed out, it would put Chryst in an
uncomfortable position, and Tiller has a choice to make too. He might be
inclined to walk, but since he's signed through 2010, that would mean giving
up millions of dollars. If he stays and does his job another year, he gets
a buy-out but 2008 probably won't be a lot of fun for him.
As for the Buckeyes, first time was the charm for Tressel! It's conceivable
he could make it back to the title game for a fourth time next year, though.
I just wish tOSU would stop making the Big Ten look bad. :) FWIW, I think
it would have been a completely different game had Robiskie not dropped that
TD pass that turned into zero points after the blocked FG attempt. Instead,
that swung the momentum heavily LSU's way and it was downhill from there
until the Bucks were in a hole too deep to climb out.

Also kind of a slap in the face to Tiller and his assistants ... if it goes
through, that should make for some interesting staff meetings next year!
Could be an interesting turnover of coaches in the coming years ... Iowa and
Purdue have seemed ripe for change for awhile, the Zooker could be gone soon
by bigger offers if his success continues or Neuheiseled out if rumors prove
true, Indiana's in a tough spot (kind of like West Virginia this year or
Miami with Coker) where they almost had to sign the assistant but that could
pan out and, of course, there's always the question of when JoePa steps
down. Personally, I hope he waits Bobby out and then gets whatever he needs
to make sure Bowden is not #1 in victories.
I think Rodriguez will be good for Michigan after the initial adjustment,
and Dantonio could be dangerously good as MSU's coach. Tressel might feel
some heat for a second straight title game loss, but he's still coach for as
long as he wants it (plus, if their underclassment return, OSU could make it
back for a third time next year ... either to be the "third time's a charm"
feel-good story or to become the Buffalo Bills of college football ... as
much as it's schadenfreude watching the Bucks self destruct despite how bad
it makes the league look and inflates SEC egos, there would be something
funny about it if Georgia defeated OSU in next year's BCS title game).
Oh well ... it's that sad time of the season until spring football begins.
:)
