He's not the Sonics GM anymore either, he got relieved of that last year 
and is now a "consultant" to them.

The guy from USC (Steve Lopes) seemed more intriguing to me than the 
Sonics GM, especially if he was the day-to-day contact person for the 
football and basketball teams and coaches.

This is not a knock on Jim Phiilip. I support his hiring and wish good 
luck to him! Go Cats!
