I could not let that go.  

Maureen and I have that "dream team" discussion, but only with basketball and there is a reason for this and it is WRONG.

Football is forward-looking only.  Bacher will be better tomorrow than he was yesterday.  Same way with Lane, Sutton, Peterman, McMannis, Wooten, Smith, etc.

We love the past players, but we are excited about the current players and their maturing.

As Northwestern basketball fans we must get past the "if only" and look at next season based on what we have, not what we might have had if we could pick players, coaches, schedules, arenas, etc. out of different generations.

"If only" does not help make or improve the future.
