[NU Sports] Hallelujah

I'd love to see NU go after Mike Montgomery. He does
the FSN Pac 10 commentary a lot of times and still
seems to have the desire to coach. He knows what it
takes to win at an institution of NU's academic
standards and after falling into the trap so many
coaches do of equating NCAA success with NBA success
(with disastrous results), I don't think he'll look at
NU as a stepping stone.

It will be interesting to see what the new AD does and
I'll give him a chance to do his work before
judging.:) No question he's in a much much better
place than the past two ADs who took over - Slick
Rick, for all his faults, did an amazing job of
getting NU's program into the modern age and updating
facilities and Murphy grew the overall program in many
areas. Basketball aside, NU has a healthy all-around
department that fields competitive teams and does the
school proud. Roundball is the big ??? at this point
and the real program/hire challenge for the AD.

What I do hope the new AD does is use his local
expertise to work on that large divide between NU and
local fans/media. Hopefully he can build our fan base
in the big sports and improve relations with the press
as a way to help that.
