True enough....
The big question for the new AD will be do you blow off Carmody, or give him one
more year to turn things around.
FWIW - I really believe that Murph had given BC a couple more years to show
improvement starting this year. BC hinted as much during the post season wrapups
and I don't see a new guy coming in and cleaning the basketball house during his
first month on the job.
I would be more worried that Beth Combs will go back to the Ivy league area if
she doesn't click with the new guy.
I personally think Carmody is here for at least another year to try to find that
big guy we need if we're going to compete in Div I. This year's team has finally
learned how to finish - and they did it on the road - something that is very
hard to coach.
In any case, what I saw against Purdue was a team that can play with almost
anyone, but they just couldn't finish - especially when the other team turned up
the heat. The Cats need to be able to overwhelm a team on an off night and we
just haven't been able to do that this year.
But here's food for thought - imagine Jitim and Vedran playing with this bunch
of kids. You can make the case that Thompson is another Jitim, but it would be
great if one of the Croats stepped up an played like VV - I think the inside
game would be much better, and so would the record.
IMHO of course
