What reason do you have to believe that the Sonic's GM would be a better
choice? It isn't like the Sonics have exactly set the NBA world on fire,
and the job of running a pro franchise is quite a bit different than the
job of running a college sports program. (I think Murphy will do well
at the Packers, but there's no question in my mind that he will have
to learn a lot of new skills, and quickly.)

to bring in large contributions and IMHO that is the chief job of the
Athletic Director these days. Yes, it all comes down to raising money,
but that's been a fact of life at Northwestern for decades (and not just
in athletics.)
