[NU Sports] Worst basketball seasons ever?

Wait--What do you mean, "wore the suit" and "the other Willie"? My five-
and three-year-old are not going to like hearing about this . . . . I
suppose next you're going to try to tell me that there's no Santa Claus.
One of my fraternity brothers once told (alleged to) some of us in
confidence that he was Willie. However, I disproved that allegation when I
saw both him and Willie in the same room at the same time later that year.
Willie is a Wildcat; are these individuals claiming to be Willie some sort
of were-cats? ;) -Joe

Wow!! Yer right! I completely "misremembered" that!!! But we did play all
our home games at Alumni Hall that season!

The running joke in our family was that the next game (the loss against
DePaul) was televised by MSG Network in NYC and my brother was the director
of the telecast. But as it fell on the same night as Passover and my Mom
wouldn't let her freshman son stay in Chicago, I had to go home to Long
Island as did Keith (the other Willie). So a friend of mine at Willard,
Lowell, wore the suit. I remember watching the game thinking, 'Where's
Willie?". And I later found out that Lowell had an asthma attack within five
minutes of the game starting and spent the whole game sitting down under the
basket.

Never forgave my Mom for that! Or for the 13-point NU collapse in the last
1:40!

Such better memories than the current state of basketball affairs.
