I read that article and another kissy-kissy article

and noticed
"...Girardi's coach at Northwestern, Ron Wellman, now the athletic director at Wake Forest..."

How about Wellman for AD?  He has a history with NU and is an AD at an academic institution.  Yes it would cost extra money and a call from Joe to pry him away, but the fit is there.
