John,

This is one time I fully agree with your thoughts.  And to me, a prime candidate who would generate excitement and hopefully boost our recruiting profile-- and who embodies class, dignity and good sportsmanship--and academic prowess--is KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR, who would probably jump at the chance to be a Head Coach.

If someone askedd Knight about taking th Northwestern basketball job today, his advice would be the same.  I remember a story in which Calhoun told NU that the way they were running the program they would never be successful
The only way the program can be turned around is is the board decides to pay such big bucks to get a top, well known coach to come in that the faculty PC police have a stroke..  But, that is what it is going to take.
