[NU Sports] Proudest Alamo TV moment

I do not believe in moral victories, but I also believe we have nothing to be 
ashmaed of either this year or in the Alamo Bowl--We played well, we gave it 
our best,--and some bad breaks cost us the game

However 2 1/2 years ago I said that we needed to give Fitz some time-and we 
needed to go easy on him for at least a year or two

He was young 

He had unexpectedly been asked to take over the head coaching job

We were in a transition year 

And I think think this year he has proven himself to the doubters. NU had a 
tough first year , but then a better 2nd year and a strong 3rd year as 
evidenced by a 9-4 record, a solid bowl invitation and a well played bowl game against 
a heavily ranked opponent.

I spoke with him briefly twice at the hotel in SA--Sure he talked a good game 
to me, but his actions seem to back his words--The players were well behaved, 
they smiled and chatted with the fans at the hotel--They made me proud of the 
NU concept of student/athlete--I am sure there will be a few guys every year 
that won't--and I expect Fitz to deal with them in a prompt mannner

Thanks guys for a fun and exciting year --and to the seniors, best of luck in 
the future
