[NU Sports] Nu Roundball Rolls....

Could be...watched the game, and while the 'Cats did play well (and didn't have a half collapse when UMKC put together a short run) against a pesky team as you note, UMKC was small and not, arguably, very athletic - which is why Coble, Thompson, and SHurna got a lot of open looks. Defensively, NU seemed to allow a lot of penetration which, in this game, they were able to compensate for due to their size advantage underneath (many blocked shots near the hoop).
I too am optimistic for the season but leary of the taller, quicker Big 10 teams that the 'Cats will face....Rowley has size but not sure how he'll handle the bigger, quicker big men NU will face. This week's road trip to Stanford will perhaps be a good indicator.
(Speaking of taller quicker Big 10 teams..OSU just barely beat Butler....)

With Coble and the "other" frosh - Shurna - leading the way, NU shook off
the rust and rolled over a pesky UMKC team last night.
FWIW - this was the kind of team we'd have lost to last year, but with the
new big guys in the middle, and some lights out 3 point shooting from
Thompson, Moore and Coble, (and Shurna) it was easy to see how BC plans to
work against the Big 10 once the season starts.
Maybe W-R will become our house, a dark pit where other teams come in and
never come back.?
