Maybe Ed will like this one:

We're wearing purple jerseys in a bowl game for the first time since the 1949 Rose Bowl. We won that game, of course, so perhaps wearing the same jersey color will be a good omen.

In our three bowl games where we wore black (96 Rose, 97 Citrus and 2000 Alamo) and the two bowl games where we wore white ('03 Motor City and '05 Sun), we lost.
