My favorite line from Mayor Daley (the first) was uttered when the story
broke that the city had moved $3M of insurance to Heil & Heil in
Evanston two weeks after they hired a young John Daley. "If I can't help
my sons, then they can kiss my ***...If a man can't put his arms around
his sons, then what kind of world are we living in?"

To paraphrase, it's good to be the mayor.

Louisiana has had 2 governors sent to jail Edwards and Leche, and one
sent to an insane asylum Earl Long, who, when asked about a corruption
investigation  of his administration, answered "I don't know nothin
about nothin, especially  that"

:) - well, we  haven't been at it as long out here in Arizona, but we're
giving the old  states club a run for its money in corruption (ditto
with Alaska for the new  kids and corruption).

And of course, there's always  Louisiana.
