I love that the 'Cats are big underdogs.? As has already been pointed out, it's a great motivating tool for Fitz, and also it takes a lot of pressure off of the team and puts it all on Mizzou, which "spit the bit" (to quote George Steinbrenner) against Kansas as a big favorite.

IMHO, the Rose could wind up as the best bowl of the weekend.
Remember you heard it here.

Eric -
I nearly spat out my drink all over the keyboard reading this - hilarious!:)
Looking at the matchups themselves, I was snoring and wondering why we'd
want to keep this tradition, but you actually made it interesting.
> Who Cares Bowl: South Flor. vs. Memphis
There could actually be quite a few "who cares" bowls this year.:)
> Under the Radar Bowl: TCU vs. Boise St.
Now THIS is one of the few bowls I'll reshuffle the schedule to watch this
year.
> Charlatan Bowl: Notre Dame vs. Hawaii ( I hate Hawaii
So how come when we have six wins there's no bowl to be found, but suddenly
the F'ing Irish get a trip to Hawaii. Ugh. Some guys have all the luck!:)
> Wish we 8-4 and at this Bowl: Wisky vs. Flor. St
Dunno about that ... playing FSU in Orlando is a tall order.
> Blow-out Bowl 2: Ga. Tech hands LSU their ass
I would LOVE to see that. Hope you're right and all those fans choke on
their "SEC! SEC! SEC! chant"
> Sit back and watch the fun Bowl: Okie St. vs. Oregon
There are only a few bowls left with great tradition, solid community
involvement and genuine excitement every year - the Holiday Bowl is
definitely on that list.
> OH MY GOD; WE HAVE TO BEAT THE ^&&*((_#@$%^OUT_
> (mailto:#@$^OUT) OF OSU
> AND HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT!!!! Bowl: Texas vs. Ohio
> St.
Be very careful here. Texas is a good team, but the last few teams to be
snubbed for some major bowl have come out and laid an egg. With a healthy
Beanie Wells and a mature Terrelle Pryor, this is not the same team that
we've seen in the BCS recently.
And I'll say it again - everyone harps on Tressel for two losses (one a
blowout, one a game that got away on the opponent's virtual home field) ...
but no one gets on Stoops for losing to a BCS buster in Boise State and then
getting clobbered by the Big Least champ. Same 0-2 BCS mark the past two
years. Same # of BCS titles (though Stoops has one more title game loss).
Yet Tressel and the Buckeyes are viewed as pariahs and OU is the second
coming this year. Sheesh.
> Good game which you should watch Bowl: UConn vs. Buffalo
Perhaps, but I just can't get excited about UConn and Buffalo. Heck, I'm
trying to remember how long ago (not so long) they even entered the FBS.
> Rose Bowl : Penn St. vs. USC "nuff said.
Amen - looking forward to a classic Granddaddy. Two great teams. Two great
bowl coaches. Two great traditions. The sunset over the San Gabriel
Mountains. The true Big Ten-Pac 10 matchup and the parade (the only parade
worth watching ... well, maybe Macy's once and awhile).
Pasadena is NEVER a consolation prize and is still the best argument to keep
the bowls. I get goosebumps remembering our visit.
> Weak sister visits SuperDome so SEC can gloat
> "We're the best" Bowl: Utah
Yeah ... two SEC slaughters in a row should hurt the argument for the BCS
busters. They'll want to be heading to Arizona more instead of NO.
> And finally, the Win this MO FO Bowl: NU vs Mizzou: GO
> CATS!!!
A-freakin'-men!
GO CATS!!!
