I love it!:)

We probably can't get them to go for that:(, but if we could get an 8-team playoff, we might be able to get a north "regional" quarterfinal (ala March Madness) that could rotate between Indy, Detroit, St. Louis, Minneapolis, etc. Maybe KC and Chicago once and awhile.

What it might look like this year ...

SOUTH REGIONAL @ Dallas, TX
(1) Oklahoma vs. (8) Utah

EAST REGIONAL @ Atlanta, GA
(2) Florida vs. (7) Texas Tech

NORTH REGIONAL @ Detroit, MI
(3) Texas vs. (6) Penn State

WEST REGIONAL @ Glendale, AZ
(4) Southern Cal vs. (5) Alabama

Semifinals in the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl
Championship in the Orange Bowl
Alternate among 10-12 major bowl host cities for regionals, with the title/semifinals alternating between the BCS bowls.

Heck, you could even work this in with the bowl games for those who want to keep those classic, 5-year-old matchups of MAC #3 vs. C-USA #6.

More money. More ratings. More excitement. More controversy (why is OSU left out? Why is Bama seeded so low? Etc.).

And a champion crowned on the field. Just imagine the 8 games above, the semis a couple weeks later and the title game a couple weeks later.

Awesome.

In a perfect world ... :)
