[NU Sports] Notre Dame

One of the bloggers writes in response to Stewart Mandel's piece that he  
hopes that NU and Purdue join the Big East and leave what he refers to as  the 
"Obese 11" and that ND, in turn, could then join a reconstituted  Big Ten.
 
Yeesh!  As much as I would love NU to compete against teams  nearer to NYC 
and the East Coast, I would not want to leave the Big Ten, as he  suggests.  Not 
while we are competitive in most sports other than  basketball (and more 
recently, baseball).  We have proven we  belong--as does Purdue IMHO.
