I'm with Alan on this one. The Cats played well last night, but I suspect
they won in large part because FSU played badly. We missed 13 foul shots,
including the front end of every one-and-one. That already has cost us at
Butler and will again if not rectified. We also shot a tepid 23 for 56 from
the field thanks to a 10-for-30 first half when FSU, thank you very much,
went cold, too. After watching Rowley for two games, I can say that he is a
project with a long way to go. Just being 7 feet, 280 lbs. makes him a
force but one that can be reckoned with at this point in his career.
(Perhaps he should be less than 280 lbs.) The good news is that we can go
nine deep for the first time that I can recall, and we actually
out-rebounded FSU 41 - 33, including what is for us an amazing 18 offensive
boards. I'll keep watching and hoping, but I'm not buying my post-season
tickets just yet.
