There's also an NU connection there--Shawn Watson, the Husker OC, coached under Barnett at NU in 97 and 98, and then at CU for several years before coming to Nebraska under Callahan. 

I think Watson was largely responsible for implementing some of the Spread game late last year, after the Husker starting QB Sam Keller got hurt. The spread suited Joe Ganz's abilities nicely, and he really flourished late last year and throughout this season.
