[NU Sports] Alamo not interested in Wisconsin

I wouldn't mind a rematch with Nebraska in the Alamo Bowl....

That game still sticks in my craw - Nebraska ran 3 offenses, then went to
the one that worked. I think that team is still scoring.

Only good thing that came out of that was NU changing to the spread. I truly
believe that our Offense can play with almost anyone on a good day, and with
TS back, we're not so one dimensional, especially with Kafka ready in the
2nd (or maybe the 4th with a lead) quarter to run a series down the field.

In any case, I just want a bowl near New Years. [Damn that Indy loss screwed
up this season.]

Subject: [NU Sports] Alamo not interested in Wisconsin

According to this article, which quotes the president of the bowl, the Alamo
Bowl is probably not interested in Wisconsin but will select whichever of
MSU, Iowa, or Northwestern remains available after the Capital One and
Outback make their selections.

So this would mean that if the Outback picks Iowa over us, then we're headed
to the Alamo. Frankly, I had hoped the Alamo might pick Wisconsin over us
in this scenario so we could instead go to the Champs Bowl.

Let's keep our fingers crossed on the Outback.

Btw, this article also says that the "Outback Bowl appears poised to select
Iowa ahead of Northwestern," but there's no authority cited for that
proposition.
