I felt his book "The Hundred-Yard Lie" was pretty negative towards NU.

His book dealt with exploitation of student-athletes and he did not do a good enough job to separate NU from the others. NU football IMHO in NO way exploits the student-athletes. NU works hard to graduate them and help them start their non-football career. If they get injured we don't throw them on the trash heap like many other schools. I remember the case of Nick Knapp(bball) who had a heart condition that would preclude him from playing. NU agreed to honor his full scholarship despite the fact he would never play. He was not interested and went elsewhere.

That is my main complaint with Telander.

For me in general I like publications not columnists, which is the way the newspaper corporations like it.
