I don't know what happened to Dienhart, but the new Sporting News just arrived and they are switching to a mostly web-based format as well. The print one now just comes out every two weeks and is big, glossy and full of pretty pictures, but not much else -- sort of an "Us Weekly" style. Yet another 100+ year journalistic tradition, and one that had featured a lot of Medill alums, down the tubes.
How will we start our fireplaces in the future without old newspapers? The internet doesn't burn quite as well.
