I can only verify that I've heard the same story and I believe it has
also been published if you want to try to search for it.

As far as the season is concerned, I agree that we should expect a
winning record, particularly with a senior QB.  

My main concerns are the O line and the defense.  We've seen how no
huddle wore out our defense in the past.  If we are having a problem
running the ball (see O line concern), we would find ourselves going
through some very quick 3 and outs.  That's OK if our D is also getting
quick 3 and outs, but if they've just come off the field after a long
drive, we could have a problem.

I have been a bear on NU's hopes the past few years  and unfortunately
have been mostly  right, but I think Fitz may now be close to hitting
his stride and am predicting a winning season- for the Cats-,though I
will say 7-5, as I think we will lose one NC game  tyhat we al think we
should win (because we always do) and go .500  in conf--

On a separate note, I was at an Alumni function this weekend in the Bay
Area and the host told me that NU was actually offered the Rose Bowl
trophy from 1996, because of ineligibilty disclosures from a few USC
Players (What a surprise !!!) including Keyshawn--But Barnett turend it
down saying we needed to win it on the field--Can anyone verify this ?
